Clinical Psychology

As a highly-trained clinician, Dr. Mosk has a wealth of expertise and skills accessible to those who request his services. He employs only valid, evidence-based treatment methods to ensure effective and efficient treatment outcomes that are durable and beneficial to clients.

Dr. Mosk specializes in cognitive-behavioral assessment and therapy for clients with emotional challenges, applied behavioral analysis, interpersonal skills training, and violence assessment and prevention. His current clinical treatment interests are in the area of parental alienation and alignment in the context of divorce. As a former student of one of the founding fathers of autism treatment and applied behavioral analysis, Dr. Ivar Lovaas, Dr. Mosk also maintains fluency with current leading-edge therapies for individuals with autism.

From 1982 to 1985, as a clinical research psychologist at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and the UCLA Mental Health Clinical Research Center for Schizophrenia and Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Dr. Mosk worked with adults with schizophrenia. In 1985, Dr. Mosk began a three-year run as the director of The Life Skills Center, a model treatment program that he conceptualized and developed for the California Department of Mental Health. This innovative program offered rapid and intensive functional skills training for thousands of patients with acute, serious mental illness in the California psychiatric hospital system.

Dr. Mosk has advanced training in numerous clinical fields, including adult depression, autism, psychological trauma and anxiety disorders, psychological testing, chemical dependency and drug abuse, neuropsychology, and risk management and medical ethics.

Dr. Mosk has turned his expertise in behavior assessment into useful tools. He holds the copyright on the Functional Capacity Rating ProfileĀ©, a psychological instrument used by doctors to objectively quantify the behavior patterns of individual patients. In 1993, he and a colleague founded Managed Care Measurement, a software company that provided services to the healthcare industry. Dr. Mosk is licensed to practice psychology in Illinois and California.
